Both mats are multi-open, with the same cutouts.
Breakdown of my math:
I have a total of 24 13.75" wide x 10" tall art pieces. Split that into 12 pieces per frame.
Each frame will have a grid of 4 across by 3 down cutouts in its mat.
The goal is to have 1" mat borders but add an additional 1/8" art overlap. This makes the math:
Width = 1.125" outer mat border + 13.50" opening + 1.25" inner mat border + 13.50" + 1.25" + 13.50" + 1.25" + 13.50" + 1.125" outer mat border = 60" exactly
Height = 1.125" outer mat border + 9.75" opening + 1.25" inner mat border + 9.75" + 1.25 + 9.75 + 1.125 outer mat border = 34" exactly.
The inner mat border is 1 and 1/4 because the 1/8 overlap is per side and inner borders touch 2 sides of openings. |
